The city that will host the opening ceremony of World Cup is also the most important city of the Country when it comes to scale, population and yield. This is the reason people usually say it is the core engine of the national economy. Having this importance, you can expect to see some signs of craft beer revolution . And here it goes: find below our selection of brewpubs, pubs and beers in the city.
Cervejaria Nacional
This is a cool place to taste a wide range of craft beers directly from the source. Established in the cool neighbourhood of Pinheiros, their beers have names of Brazilian Folklore Characters. You have to taste their Y-Iara Pilsen (Lager, 5% ABV) and Mula (IPA, 7.5% ABV). If you are lucky, you can still taste the Seasonal Münckner (Ur-Dunkel, 5% ABV) brewed in collaboration with Paulaner's Brewmaster, Mark Zubber. On Saturdays you can taste the endless Feijoada (take as much as you can system). You can also support your team from the bar as there are some screens broadcasting the main soccer games, (in case you couldn't get the tickets). There are food & drinks packages from BRL 120 (BRL 95 in advance) during the Brazilian Team Games and you can taste all their beers, drinks and food, as long as you can, while you watch the games.

If you are coming from UK, Sweden or Japan, you have probably heard about this cool Scottish Bar. This is the Brazilian Bar for the Scottish Brewery BrewDog, famous for promoting the revolution of craft beers. If you have been into one of their bars, you will feel familiar, because they keep the same environment: garage style, dogs are allowed, friendly, funny, with a well trained staff who understand a lot about beers. Besides BrewDog beers on tap, usually they have great brazilian guest beers, in the same intensity of flavors you expect from BrewDog beers. They have just opened the Bottle shop attached to the bar, so you can take away the beers you enjoy. Check their Facebook Fanpage where they usually inform about the daily selection on tap.
Last minute update: They will broadcast Brazilian team game on a TV...I mean, literally, on a Tube! Check their Facebook Page for more details.

(Do you know the guy wearing the white hat? Hint: his name starts with "Garret" and his last name is "Oliver")
This is the São Paulo version of the popular Bar in Rio de Janeiro, with the same name. Chef Katia Barbosa prepared a delicious menu with Brazilian traditional ingredients. Edu Pasarelli is the sommelier and has prepared a great beer list you can pair with their tasty food. This place is a comfy and cozy place with brick walls and good lightening. It makes you feel like you are at your friend's living room for a dinner or some beers. Usually they have some Brazilian and foreign beers on tap. Ask the waiter for the daily selection.

Karavelle Brew Pub
(Redirected from VejaSP website)
Do you know the Brazilian Singer, Seu Jorge? He is also a beer lover and has his own brewery named Karavelle. This Brewpub opened on September 2013 in the rich neighbourhood of Jardins (Near Oscar Freire Street, a shopping destination in São Paulo). In this place you can also check out the nightlife of average Paulistanos, with electronic music and dimly lit environment. Their beer range is pretty interesting and suitable for entry level tasters. Try their Keller (Keller style with American Standard Lager Base, 4.5% ABV) and Weiss (Weizen 5% ABV), as they are light and the best option to pair with our tropical weather.
